Birmingham ANG – The 117th Air Refueling Wing is a unit of the Alabama ANG, stationed at Birmingham ANG Base AL. The 117th ARW flies the Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker. Its mission is to train and equip combat ready aircrews and support personnel to perform worldwide aerial refueling and airlift missions.
Maxwell-Gunter – Maxwell AFB officially known as Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, is a USAF installation under the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The installation is located in Montgomery AL. It was named in honor of Second Lieutenant William C. Maxwell, a native of Atmore AL.
Redstone Arsenal – Redstone Army Airfield is a military airport located at Redstone Arsenal, six miles (10 km) southwest of the city of Huntsville in Madison County AL. It is used to support the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, NASA, and the Flying Activity.
